- Takeoff from the deck of an aircraft carrier, raise the gear and climb to 10,000' in a controlled climb.%n

- % % % 1. Start left and right engines (Ctrl-L and Ctrl-R).%n
- % % % 2. Select full military power (0 or throttle full forward).%n
- % % % 3. Ensure your parking brake is OFF (W).%n
- % % % 4. When at full power, fire the catapult to launch (Ctrl-C).%n
- % % % 5. If you are flying the realistic flight model, raise the gear (G). In the%n
- % % % % % relaxed flight model, the gear will raise automatically. Flaps will %n
- % % % % % retract automatically.%n
- % % % 6. Establish a 6-8 degree nose up climb by placing the velocity vector in the%n
- % % % % % 6-8 degree position on the HUD. Maintain until reaching 350 kias on your HUD then%n
- % % % % % climb at 10 degrees and 350 kias. Adjust your power to maintain this airspeed.%n
- % % % 7. Continue the climb to 10,000', then level off. Return to the training %n
